Bahama Breeze Troy

Bahama Breeze Troy review, hours, pics, and menu info. Bahama Breeze restaurant has Metro Detroit, Michigan locations in Troy MI on Big Beaver Rd and Livonia on Haggerty Rd.

Bahama Breeze is a commercialized version of a South Beach or Cuban restaurant. The atmosphere in the Troy restaurant is bright with pastel pink and green decor and plenty of palm trees. The Bahama Breeze decor is true Miami style, and quite comparable to being sent back in time to Miami, sitting beachside with Don Johnson. Whether or not that’s your thing… I won’t judge.

The Bahama Breeze Troy MI menu offers plenty of seafood selections with a Cuban flair, and mixes in a few sandwiches and a Burger option for the non-seafood enthusiast. Prices are average. Bahama Breeze does offer a small kids menu with 3 options.

Before the Bahama Breeze food arrived, I did not know what to expect for taste and quality. I had never been there before, nor had I heard anything about it before. All I knew was what I saw and heard around me, – vibrant colors and a continuous loop of Cuban/Jamaican music. I enjoyed the restaurant’s wide-open seating and spacious interior. We went at a slow time after lunch but it seems the atmosphere could be pretty darn festive on a crowded Friday night.

The Bahama Breeze Troy menu also offered an abundance of cocktails, frozen drinks, martinis, beer and wine. There are so many beverages, they have their own book. This place would definitely be a good option for a girls night out/happy hour.

The food arrived and the portion size was impressive. The food was tasty – I tried a Bahama Breeze Cuban sandwich and my husband went with a burger. I liked how you get a few choices for sides. With my sandwich, I could have fries, a tomato salad, yellow rice with black beans, or a fruit salad. I opted for the rice and beans and it was good. While the menu is expansive and sticks to its island-flavor roots, it could use a little depth in variation. For instance, Bahama Breeze has salmon pasta, but no other salmon dishes like salmon filets. My Cuban sandwich was excellent but there were only 4 sandwich choices on the dinner menu (Angus Burger, Cuban sandwich, Portobello Vegetable and Oak-Grilled Chicken).

Restaurants like Bahama Breeze may be a dime a dozen in Florida, but they’re rare here… and that’s what makes Bahama Breeze a fun place to visit.
