I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Robert Melillo, an internationally known lecturer, author, educator, researcher and clinician specializing in the areas of neurology, rehabilitation, neuropsychology and neurobehavioral disorders in children. Dr. Robert Melillo is co-founder of the Brain Balance Achievement Centers and developed the Brain Balance Program, a multi-modal approach to the remediation of ADHD, dyslexia, autism, Asperger’s, Tourette’s, learning disabilities and processing disorders along with other neurobehavioral disabilities found in children. Dr. Melillo has written two books for parents focusing on brain imbalances in children; Disconnected Kids and Reconnected Kids. His third book, Autism: The Scientific Truth About Preventing, Diagnosing, and Treating Autism Spectrum Disorders – and What Parents Can Do Now, is now available.

I think it's a natural instinct for parents to look ahead to their parenting futures. When my kids were two years old I used to try to glance ahead in the crystal ball to wonder what they would be like (and how I would react) when they reached Kindergarten or could ride a bike etc...
Men can basically do what they want as they get older - with little repercussion or questioning from the world around him. My husband can grow his hair out long, get a tattoo, and buy a motorcycle and people around him will give him high fives and say how cool it all is, even at 42.
Ahhh the sweet taste of freedom.
How competitive has it gotten if we are seeing teachers being pressured to report higher test scores, with some of them even getting busted for cheating?
