Brown Iron Brewhouse Review Pics

Brown Iron Brewhouse Washington Twp is located off Van Dyke Rd north of 26 mile in Washington, MI. The Brown Iron Brewhouse serves BBQ food and offers up a massive craft beer list (it takes about 4 large flat screens to fit the full beer tap list at the bar).

We stopped in the Brown Iron Brewhouse during a lunch hour. The staff was super friendly, but it may have been because there were only about 3-4 tables seated at the time.

The interior of the Brown Iron Brewhouse is roomy and fun. There are tallest ceilings ever which give it an industrial feel. This is well balanced by the long wooden picnic tables that are the “booths,” side by side flat screen TV’s, and a stone-sided bar. One wall of the Brown Iron Brewhouse has two large garage style doors that can be opened to let the fresh air in. There is also outdoor seating with firepits which have proven to be a big hit.

The Brown Iron Brewhouse has a lunch menu for the lunch timeframe (i.e. you can’t order off the full dinner menu until the dinner hours). The portion sizes are decent for lunch and there’s enough to choose from, e.g. bbq pastrami (seems pretty unique since I don’t usually see this on the menu at BBQ joints), smoked salmon, BBQ brisket, sandwiches, salads, apps, etc. I like the idea of having a separate lunch menu. It had me feeling like our food was fresh and cooked to order. I ordered the smoked salmon and it was served with waffle fries and vinegar slaw. I added a dash of the hot sauce to the slaw and it was awesome. The portion size for me was perfect. I didn’t feel like I overate, and I was definitely not still hungry.

The Brown Iron Brewhouse makes most everything on-site, including their BBQ sauces stored at each table. There are three house BBQ sauces – Honey Garlic, Apple BBQ, and Spitfire BBQ. Spitfire BBQ was outstanding, with Honey Garlic close behind. I was putting this stuff on everything. I was excited to try the Apple BBQ, but found it to resemble an apple pie, which didn’t go well with my salmon or fries.

The Brown Iron Brewhouse also offers a Sunday Build Your Own Bloody Mary, live music on Thursdays, dining specials such as Taco Tuesday, and more.
