Crispelli’s Berkley Bakery and Pizzeria

Crispelli’s Berkley Bakery and Pizzeria Review, pics, hours, and menu info. Crispelli’s Bakery and Pizzeria Restaurant, located on Woodward in Berkley MI, opened in 2012. Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria is quite unique and worth a visit.

I went to Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria for lunch and entered a bit confused, as did many. There’s even someone at the door to help customers with the “process.”

Crispelli’s Berkley Pics

Basically, Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria in Berkley is set up like a high-end, upscale cafeteria. There are different stations that you go to depending on the type of food you want to order. There are the following different food stations: pizza, sandwiches, salads, pasta, and wine and beer. If you’re in the mood for more than one food, head to one station and start a tab. Take your tab receipt to the next food counter and hand it to the staff while you place your next order and it gets added on to your tab. When you’re all done, you pay at the central register, have a seat, and the staff will yell out your name when your order is up.

The set up at Crispelli’s can seem a bit hectic to some. It’s not quite the sit-down relaxing lunch and it can get loud in there. But, the atmosphere is modern and nicely decked out in crisp whites and accented with stainless steel. It’s casual and comfortable. Perfect for a quick lunch and very affordable.

Now, onto the food… The pizza at Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria is brick oven-baked and is cooked within minutes. In keeping up with the upscale cafeteria theme, there’s virtually no wait. How fast? Our fresh-baked pizza was done in about the same amount of time it takes to get a “Hot ‘N Ready” Little Caesar’s pizza. Crispelli’s is becoming known around Metro Detroit for their thin crust, NY-style pizza and it is quite good.

I ordered the Italian Panini which was also done quickly. My Italian Panini was served with homemade chips. The pricing was fair for what you get. We spent less than $20 for a lunch that was filling, fresh, fast and tasty.

Crispelli’s Berkley menu include soups, salads, sandwiches, paninis, pizza (thin crust New York-style or deep dish), and desserts. There are plenty of drink options including the usual fountain drinks, but also cappuccino, espresso, wine, beer, and bottled beverages for “grab-n-go.” Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria also has a mini market inside the restaurant that offers food items for sale such as bags of chips, bottles of wine, jars of olives, artichokes, hummus and more.

The desserts are not at all typical. There are the standard brownies, but you will also find fruit tarts, cannolis, and cobblers. You will also find some unique twists with some of the other food options at Crispelli’s Berkley. The sandwich I had was unique and I enjoyed the taste of fresh basil and fresh mozzarella. I plan to go back and try the White Pie pizza – traditional mozzarella, extra virgin olive oil, parmesan reggiano, romano, roasted garlic, artichoke heart.

Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria offers outdoor patio seating for the warmer seasons. The staff at Crispelli’s Bakery & Pizzeria all seemed to really enjoy their work and I appreciated the kind service.

Crispelli’s also has locations in West Bloomfield and Troy.
