ETON CAPS HIGHEST ENROLLMENT YEAR WITH GRADUATION

BIRMINGHAM, MICHIGAN: If there is one word to describe the seniors set to walk across the stage on May 31 at Eton Academy, it’s “perseverance.”

Each of the 16 seniors in Eton’s 2013 graduating class overcame their individual struggles with learning, making their graduation a triumph of effort and dedication, and is a validation of Eton’s teaching model of a research-based curriculum, highly trained instructors and small classes. The Eton Approach™ centers on preparing students with a solid foundation for lifelong learning.

Eton’s seniors are looking ahead to potential careers as engineers, policemen and artists. When asked, the graduating seniors cited the importance of Eton’s expert teachers and customized curriculum as factors that helped them make dramatic improvements in their education.

Fifteen of the 16 seniors have confirmed that they are enrolled in a college or university for the fall, well above the 10 percent national average reported by the National Center for Learning Disabilities for students with similar learning disabilities. Also, seven of the seniors are members of National Honor Society, an organization that recognizes academic achievement, community service and character.

“Don’t ever give up on the things you want to achieve,” said senior Brian Davey, who plans to become a writer after attending college.

Eton Alumna Katy Dasch will be the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremonies, set to take place at 1:00 p.m. on May 31. Dasch, who graduated from Eton in 2007, earned a degree in Animal Science from Wilmington College in Ohio and currently works as an equestrian trainer.
