Metro Detroit Halloween Candy Dropoff Buyback Programs

altOakland County Moms has put together a list of a few Metro Detroit, Michigan dentists who are participating in a candy exchange or candy buyback program. Kids can bring in their Halloween candy (after they've had their fair share) and trade it in for cash! In turn, the dentists will then donate the candy to a good cause.

Here are a few of the Metro Detroit area dentists and organizations participating in a Halloween Candy Buyback program or a program for kids to donate their Halloween candy:

METRO DETROIT, MICHIGAN HALLOWEEN CANDY BUYBACK PROGRAMS:

MACOMB COUNTY, MICHIGAN HALLOWEEN CANDY BUYBACK PROGRAMS:

Who: Robert V. Antolak D.D.S. - The Gentle Dentist

When: November 3rd, 2012 from 9a-2p
Halloween Candy Buyback Details: $1/lb up to 5 lbs. The Gentile Dentist will buy back Halloween Candy for $1 per pound and send it to Operation Gratitude to troops overseas, as well as local charities such as Kids of Detroit and GFAGC (Gifts for All God's Children).

When: November 1st & November 2nd from 4-7p.
Halloween Candy Buyback Details: Buy back candy, at $1 per pound (up to 5 lbs). The sweets will then be shipped overseas to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Children donating will be greeted with a "goodie bag" from Dr. Papa's office and a craft table to visit when dropping off the candy. Since the candy buyback program is for kids, Dr. Papa's office asks that children be present when returning the candy for cash program. Last years totals were over 850 Ibs collected and $ 400.00 donated. All the candy will be delivered to the Moms of Michigan Military & Supporters and shipped overseas to our Michigan Troops.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN HALLOWEEN CANDY BUYBACK PROGRAMS:

Halloween Candy Buyback Details: Kids can bring in their unopened Halloween candy and we will buy it back for $1 per pound. There will be a five pound maximum per person. Your child must be present, and must bring or write a thank you card at our office for our troops in order to receive the cash. Each person who donates his or her candy will also receive healthy snacks, new toothbrushes, oral health tips, and a prize from the toy box in addition to the $1 for each pound of unopened candy. You will also be automatically entered in a drawing to win a one year Quality Dental Plan membership!

Who: Oakland County Sheriff Department Treats for Troops Candy Drive
Where: Oakland County Sheriff's Office Locations (see below)
When: November 1st & November 2nd from 8a-4p.
Halloween Candy Buyback Details: Halloween candy (no chocolate and individually wrapped) can be dropped off in any drop box at any Oakland County Sheriff's Office and Oakland County Sheriffs' substations in Brandon Twp., Commerce Twp., Highland Twp., Independence Twp. Orion Twp., Oxford Twp., Pontiac substation, Pontiac HQ or Rochester Hills, MI substation. Candy will collected and shipped to our troops by Operation Care Package Michigan. If you want to donate any excess candy, check out Operation Care and Comfort's website. This non-profit organization collects candy from across the US and then ships it out to the troops for a much needed treat!
