
Greater Rochester Heritage Days Festival 2013 will take place this Memorial Day weekend, Saturday May 25 from 10-6 and Sunday May 26 from 10-5. The Rochester Heritage Days festival takes place in the scenic Municipal Park in downtown Rochester. Greater Rochester Heritage Days is put on by a volunteer committee and serves to expose people to the fascinating history of our area and benefits numerous Rochester area nonprofits.
The 2013 Rochester Heritage Days Festival will feature a craft show, car shows, lumberjack shows, Pioneer Playground, food, Civil War Encampment, horse rides, camel rides and free family fun!

Many unique events made the 2012 Rochester Heritage Days a great way to spend your Memorial Day weekend close to home. New to the Rochester Heritage Days festival this year are logrolling and lumberjack performances. Performances will take place Saturday and Sunday periodically throughout the day and will include logrolling in a pool, ax throwing, chainsaw carving, good clean family oriented humor and lots of fun and excitement for all ages. Car aficionados will appreciate the return of the Lions Club car shows with Rod and Custom cars on Saturday and Vintage cars on display Sunday. The Smoking Pipes Chili Cook-off returns. The cook-off takes place on Saturday and will feature numerous chili’s prepared and served by the best of the restaurants in the Rochester area. While eating chili you can check out a bunch of cool motorcycles that all culminate their “Smoking Pipes Run” motorcycle rally at the cook-off. The annual Crafts Along the Creek Art Show returns again with a wide variety of artists with unique merchandise at all different price points.

2012 also marks an important anniversary for the war of 1812. The Rochester Heritage Days Festival will have 1812 re-enactors with an encampment…visit their tents and watch them get ready to go to battle. The Rochester Heritage Days Festival will also have childrens activities, lots of food and some incredible historical displays and historic crafts demonstrators. With all of this, and more, there is truly something for everyone regardless of age or interests at the Rochester Heritage Days Festival. You can arrive early for the 2012 Rochester Heritage Days Festival a pancake breakfast at Rochester Community House to start the day off on the right foot.
