Get your glad rags on and join us for a swanky soiree at Meadow Brook Hall on May 17, 2013. Upon revealing a secret password granted to speakeasy guests, patrons will be granted access to the Speakeasy at a secret entrance that will be disclosed at the time of their reservation.
Patrons will partake in bootleg beverages while being entertained by a 1920s inspired jazz performance by vocalist Shahida Nurullah. In keeping with the speakeasy tradition, guests will also have the opportunity to take their chances at the roulette wheel. It is strongly encouraged for guests to dress in 1920s fashion! The majority of 2012 Meadow Brook Speakeasy guests dressed up for the Speakeasy event.
The evening begins at 7pm and runs until 10pm. Tickets are $65 per person and include dinner, drinks and entertainment. Reservations are required. The secret entrance and password will be revealed when you call 248-364-6263 to make your reservation. Meadow Brook Hall is the historic home built by one of the automotive aristocracy’s most remarkable women, Matilda Dodge Wilson, widow of auto pioneer John Dodge, and her second husband, Alfred Wilson. Constructed between 1926 and 1929, Meadow Brook Hall represents one of the finest examples of Tudor-revival architecture in America, and is especially renowned for its superb craftsmanship, architectural detailing and grand scale of 88,000 square-feet. It was the center of a country estate that included 1,500 acres, numerous farm buildings, recreational facilities, several residences and formal gardens.
