The annual Lyon Township Kite Festival takes place June 1, 2013 from 10a-5p at James Atchison Park. Kite Festival is a free event. Kite kits will be available for children and available for purchase for adults. The Lyon Township Kite Festival will include classic cars, contests, a paragde, cartoon characters, kite decorating, prizes and more!

Lyon Township Kite Festival events and activities include:

• Kite flying and demonstrations
• Kite decorating
• Parade
• Pulled pork cook-off
• Games
• Magic Lance
• Caricature artist
• Two performances by the BFE (featuring Blaine Fowler of 96.3 WDVD's Blaine & Allyson in the Morning)
