Thanks to my son, I'm a Harry Potter fan. So much so, that I'm beyond amazed by and have the utmost respect for J.K. Rowling. I have only read the first two books, but I'd be through all seven by now if I had more time on my hands to read.
Being a Harry Potter fan can easily go beyond just reading the books. I enjoy participating in Harry Potter type events/sites. That is why I was thrilled to hear about the Potted Potter performance at the City Theatre in downtown Detroit. Potted Potter is an award-winning parody theater performance that kicked off its opening night on March 1st, and runs until March 17th.
I took my two kids (8 and 10). I didn't know what to expect from the 70-minute Potted Potter show that covers all seven books. I was pleasantly surprised as I found it to be more interesting, more entertaining, and even more funny than I had anticipated. Potted Potter is a fast paced clean, fun family show that gets the audience involved and keeps them entertained. Potted Potter is a two man show (starring Dan and Jeff) that works so well together, throwing in some spontaneous ad libs and keeping the laughter going all night long.
I thought I would have a difficult time following the Potted Potter show since I've only read the first two books, but it wasn't the case at all. Potted Potter is entertaining for anyone six and up, but is even more enjoyable for the Harry Potter "geeks." Regardless of the knowledge level, everyone was really into the performance and enjoying Potted Potter.
OCM is giving away tickets to the Potted Potter show on March 10. Click here to find out more about Potted Potter and how to score tickets.
