Farmington Family YMCA Youth sports

Coaches for YMCA award-winning competitive swim team, the Farmington Stingrays, help 133 kids ages 5 through 17 set goals for themselves and work to achieve excellence, while improving personal fitness and developing a life-long passion for swimming.

Farmington Family YMCA Fitness classes, swimming and personal training
Thousands of adolescents, adults and senior citizens lose weight, improve cardio-vascular fitness and build strength and stamina by swimming laps in the Y’s pool, working out in the Y’s wellness center and/or participating in an array of group exercise classes including aerobics, Zumba, aqua aerobics, TRX training and more. Senior citizens build strength, endurance and flexibility participating in Silver Sneakers, an exercise program which focuses on the needs of our community’s adults aged 55 or better.

Farmington Family YMCA Volunteerism
YMCA’s 20 policy volunteers are our eyes and ears in the community, and help ensure that the Y has the resources and knowledge necessary to effectively respond to community needs. Additionally, up to 50 adults each year help us keep youth programming affordable by volunteering as youth sports coaches and assistant coaches. Another 75 adults volunteer to support our competitive swim program. Hundreds of other adults volunteer for day-long special events including building projects, open houses, holiday special events and more. Approximately 20 adults regularly congregate in the Y lobby during the evening to crochet comforters and scarves that they donate to local charities.

The YMCA knows that people of all ages, ethnicity, gender and ability need opportunities to learn, grow and thrive. That’s why the Farmington Y makes our programs and facility accessible to all, regardless of personal financial ability. YMCA inclusion policies and financial aid program help ensure that our membership reflects the full diversity of our community, in terms of age, race, class, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation and ability.
