Fire Prevention Week Events 2025 – Oakland County – Fire Prevention Week is October 5 through October 11, 2025. Fire departments and communities across Oakland County will hold open houses, demonstrations, and free family fun events that week (and other dates). This list will also include Oakland County Fire Departments’ events that take place outside of the actual dates of Fire Prevention Week.

Oakland County hosts plenty of Fire Prevention Week events, they’re often tied into other fun Fall or Halloween events like Fall picnics and DPS & Touch a Truck events.

Berkley Touch-A-Truck Event – Berkley Public Works Interactive Touch-A-Truck
Berkley Community Center (2400 Robina Ave, Berkley, MI 48072)
Kids and adults can explore and learn more about the variety of Public Works, fire, and police trucks and equipment used. This hands-on experience will also feature opportunities to paint a plow and name the Public Works trucks for the upcoming year, with coloring pages and yard games onsite to entertain kids of any age. Birmingham Fire Prevention Week Events – Birmingham Fire Department Open House
Adams Fire Station (572, South Adams, Birmingham MI)
The hands-on event offers attendees an opportunity to operate a fire hose and learn about fire safety. View an EMS and vehicle extrication simulation with air bag deployments, along with HAZMAT apparatus and equipment. Bring your camera along for some great photo opportunities at this event! The City’s historic first water pumping fire truck from 1924 will be on display. Oakland County Dive Team and a Birmingham police vehicle and officer will be on site to display equipment and answer questions. Enter a raffle to win fire safety equipment for your home and enjoy firehouse chili, hot dogs, popcorn, face painting and much more at this family-friendly event.
