Franklin Cider Mill Bloomfield Hills Review – Pics
Franklin Cider Mill is located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Review and pics of Franklin Cider Mill, one of Metro Detroit’s oldest cider mills.
You can’t run a site like Oakland County Moms dot com without reviewing the historic Franklin Cider Mill. If you’re an eastsider or unfamiliar with Franklin CM, Franklin Cider Mill reminds me A LOT of Yates Cider Mill at Avon & Dequindre… The resemble each other a bit (right down to the water wheels), both are extremely crowded on weekends, and both seem to have the same parking, traffic & space limitations (especially when crowded). Don’t get me wrong, Franklin AND Yates are extremely charming and fared very well in our OCM Metro Detroit Cider Mills Best Of list.

Located just a mile from the hustle bustle of Telegraph, the grounds of Franklin Cider Mill are beautiful and well-maintained. While most cider mill staffs are friendly, Franklin Cider Mill staff goes out of their way to assist and take “courteous” to a new level. The staff at the outdoor open market and the Hickory Farms meats & cheeses stand love great conversation and can be very helpful with purchase recommendations!
Franklin Cider Mill has an on-site open market featuring many autumn treats. Cheeses, apple butter, apple cider vinegar, U-pick apples, syrups, Mackinaw Fudge, Hickory Farms meats, salsas, flowers and more are all featured.
Unlike the sprawling acres at most of the cider mills in Macomb County, the grounds around Franklin Cider Mill are cozy. There is a scenic, duck-filled stream to check out which also happens to power the historic water wheel. Despite being just 3 short miles away from 696 (and just a mile from Telegraph), Franklin Cider Mill feels remarkably rustic. It may not be the ultimate place to go for fall fun, but it’s an ideal spot to get your cider fix and pick up some fall food favorites!
