Green Lantern Lounge Madison Hts Review – Pics, and menu info. Green Lantern’s pizza is impressive and affordable. Green Lantern has three locations in Oakland County… carry-out and delivery restaurants in Royal Oak & Rochester Hills, and a dine-in location in Madison Heights.
We are long-time fans of Green Lantern pizza, but typically did the carry-out option rather than eating in. We recently opted to eat in at the Green Lantern Pizzeria dine-in location in Madison Heights.

Green Lantern Lounge Madison Hts Review – Aside from the cheesy commercials, Green Lantern’s food is much more impressive, and I was really surprised about the reasonable prices. It’s easy to get a great pizza in Oakland County but Green Lantern is about the best you can get without having to pay a lot. We got a medium pizza with pepperoni, a drink,an Italian sub, and the Lantern bread for less than the price of most places
Green Lantern pizza is definitely memorable and one of the best I’ve had – thick slices of pepperoni that curl up at the edges, tasty sauce and plenty of hot, melted mozzarella. The crust was good – not too thick and not too thin. It was a far cry from chain-style pizza like Little Caesar’s or Hungry Howie’s.
Our Green Lantern Lounge Madison Hts waitress convinced us to try the Lantern Bread and Italian sub as well. The Lantern Bread at Green Lantern was just as good as the pizza. It’s covered with a garlic butter and loads of melted cheese. The Lantern Bread is served with a side of sauce and a side of Ranch. The oven toasted Italian sub was filled with ham, salami, provolone cheese and the Green Lantern slaw. The slaw was a tad too sweet for me – still good, but not “it’s what Green Lantern is known for” good.
The Green Lantern restaurant is a bit small inside, and although it’s super cozy, it can get busy and loud in there on the weekends (as my husband can attest since that is why we opt for the carry out route on the busy days). If you’re looking for a nice cozy, fun place to hang out, this could be it. It’s dated, but I still welcome the dark wood booths, mini stained glass Tiffany-style light fixtures at each setting, the green marbled formica table tops, and sports memorabilia adorning the walls. The bar has fun green back lighting behind the bottles. And, there are flat screen TV’s visible from every angle.
I know Green Lantern has earned awards for being the “best pizza in Metro Detroit.” And, I think it’s well-deserved. I don’t live close to Green Lantern Pizzeria so I guess it’s a testament to their quality that I pass up a lot of other pizza places when I make a special trip to drive to Green Lantern. Now I just have to try Louie’s in Hazel Park.
