Lakes Grille Clarkston Review – pics, menu info, and hours. The Lakes Bar and Grille is located off Dixie Hwy in Clarkston MI at the old Red Knapp’s Clarkston location. Lakes Grille was forced to close in 2016 due to a fire. As of 2018, their facebook page indicates from a post in 2016 that they may return, but that’s the last we’ve heard.

The interior of Lakes Grille Clarkston is cozy, warm, with dim lighting and lots of woods. It resembles a log cabin interior with stone walls as accents. A soothing waterfall fountain is located near the glass encased wine rack display. The walls are adorned with scenic paintings, and there is a stuffed bear (up north style) welcoming guests at the entrance. The chandeliers are made with antlers to stick with the theme. Lakes Grille resembles G’s in Lake Orion, but more upscale.

There are booths all along the perimeter and a large bar in the center of the restaurant. There are plenty of flat screens TV’s to watch the games. But, even though it’s got a sporty and log cabin type of feel, the menu offers a large selection of great dishes that go well beyond bar fare.
Yes, they have great burgers, sandwiches and pizza, but they also have quality salads, steak, main dishes like shrimp fettucine and parmesan chicken, baby back ribs, fresh catch – salmon, perch, lobster, etc. and surf and turf mac n cheese. They have an interesting selection of stuffed burgers that we’ll have to try…stuffed with melted cheese and your choice of various other combinations, e.g. peppers and onions, mushrooms, chili, and more. I appreciated the well-rounded menu.
I got a salad and really enjoyed it. My husband got a burger and was pleased. The order came out in sufficient time and was fresh. The staff was super nice. We had a great lunch and enjoyed their half-off lunch special. We’ll be back to try out more of the menu… so much to explore.
Lakes Grille also has a private room for rent for showers and parties.
