The Paint Creek Trail runs from Rochester to Lake Orion, and is 8.9 miles long.  There are many parking areas available along the trail. “As part of our focus to encourage outdoor activity and exercise by utilizing trails, we encourage participants to walk, hike, run or bike utilizing the Paint Creek Trail to attend our National Trails Day® and Native Plant Festival,” said Trail Manager Kristen Myers.  Additional parking is available at Baldwin Elementary, located 1/2 mile north of the Cider Mill off of Orion Road.  A free shuttle bus will run from 10am-2:00pm between the event and Baldwin Elementary.  The shuttle is provided by The Night Move, metro Detroit’s award winning eco-conscious transportation (biodiesel) and is sponsored by Sen. Michael D. Bishop.  Signs will be posted along the trail directing users to event headquarters.  For more information about Trails Day, including a schedule of events and map or to volunteer for the Garlic Mustard Pull, log onto www.paintcreektrail.org or call (248) 651-9260.
