Oakland County Memorial Day Parades Events 2014

Memorial Day parades, events and celebrations in Oakland County, Michigan to honor those who died serving our country. Memorial Day is Monday, May 26, 2014.

In addition to Memorial Day Weekend parades and ceremonies, Oakland County Moms has put together an Oakland County Memorial Day weekend family fun page for more Metro Detroit events taking place this Memorial Day weekend in Oakland County, MI.

OAKLAND COUNTY MEMORIAL DAY PARADES AND EVENTS 2014:

Southfield, MI Memorial Day Ceremony
Friday, May 23, 2014 at 9a
The City of Southfield will be holding a Memorial Day ceremony at City Hall (26000 Evergreen Road, Southfield, MI) at 9a.

Madison Heights, Michigan Memorial Day Parade
Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 10a
Honor those who served or lost their lives for our country at the Annual Memorial Day Parade. The Memorial Day Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. at N. of Dartmouth and John R, travels north along John R to 13 Mile, and will conclude in front of City Hall. Look for details on the City cable channels. People are asked to bring their own lawn chairs, and sit along the parade route. Prior to the parade, everyone is invited to attend the Community Pancake Breakfast at the Senior Citizen Center (located at 29448 John R) from 8:00 – 10:00 am on Memorial Day. All you can eat pancakes for $6.00 per adult and $4.00 per child will be available. After enjoying a pancake breakfast, head out to the Soccer Complex north of Dartmouth and enjoy one of the best locations to see the parade! Email amcgill251@yahoo.com for more info.

Auburn Hills, MI Memorial Day Parade

The 2014 Memorial Day Parade will begin at the American Legion Post home on Churchill and moves to the cemetary on Squirrel for a short ceremony then travels to the MOMS plaque for a short ceremony and culminates at the American Legion Post. Immediately following the parade there will be a family fun event until 3p featuring a craft show, inflatables, face painting and the Auburn Hills Police Department offering free child ID kits.

Beverly Hills, MI Memorial Day Parade and Carnival

The Parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. from the Groves High School parking lot. It travels north on Evergreen and then east on Beverly Road all the way to Beverly Park. Participants in the parade will include a contingent of U.S. Marines, marching bands, a bagpiper, calliope, local Boy Scout, Girl Scout, Cub Scout, Brownie and Little League Representatives, brightly decorated bikes, fire trucks, police and sheriff vehicles, along with classic cars and other parade regulars. Carnival follows the Parade at Beverly Park from noon-3p.

Birmingham, MI Memorial Day Service

The City of Birmingham will host its annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in Shain Park. The patriotic program includes addresses of historical interest, popular songs, wreath laying at the monuments and live music provided by Birmingham’s Straw Hat Band. This year the city observes the 150th anniversary of its founding during the Civil War. The Birmingham Historical Society will mark the occasion with a special presentation and at 1:00pm will conduct a tour of historic Greenwood Cemetery with emphasis on local heroes who served our country during the Civil War. Family attendance is welcomed and veterans’ participation is encouraged. At the conclusion of the program, everyone is invited for refreshments at the Allen House, site of the Birmingham

Clawson, MI Memorial Day Ceremony

Come join the Clawson American Legion Post in honoring our fallen heroes each Memorial Day with the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Memorial Park next to Blair Memorial Library.

Farmington / Farmington Hills MI Memorial Day Parade

Parade route will be along Grand River Ave in Farmington. The parade will start at 10 a.m. near the intersection of Grand River Avenue and Orchard Lake Road and will travel one mile west on Grand River. It will end at Oakland Avenue where a ceremony will take place at the Farmington War Memorial Monument in Memorial Park. The Parade Committee is looking for volunteers who would like to join the team and help organize and manage the event. Ferndale, MI Memorial Day Parade

For Memorial Day, the Parade will start at 10:00am. For the Parade Route, The Parade participants enter the parade along Livernois from Maplehurst, Lewiston, Cambourne, and Breckenridge Streets. The Parade officially starts on Livernois at West Breckenridge, and heads north. The parade will march east on Maplehurst, south on Woodward, west on 9 Mile, and south at Livernois, ending at the Memorial Mall in front of Ferndale Fire Station #1.

Hazel Park, MI Memorial Day Parade

Memorial Day parade begins at 10a at the corner of John R Rd and 8 Mile Rd. After the parade, join the fun at the Memorial Festival Carnival.

Holly, MI Memorial Day Parade

The Annual Holly Memorial Day Parade will begin at North Saginaw Road and continue through Downtown Holly and over to Lakeside Park for Memorial Day Services. Parade line-ups begin at 9a, parade starts at 10a.

Milford, Michigan Memorial Parade

The Annual Milford, MI Memorial Day Parade will take place on Main Street in Downtown Milford. Contact the American Legion in Milford to participate.

Northville, Michigan Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 26, 2014 at 10a
Downtown Northville. VFW Post 4012 presents the 2014 Memorial Day Parade! Parade steps off at 10am sharp from Griswold and Main, proceeds west on Main to Wing, south on Wing to Cady, west on Cady to First, south on First to Fairbrook and over to Rural Hill cemetery for the ceremony.

Novi, Michigan Memorial Day Parade

Ceremonies are held at Veteran’s Memorial Pointe (Southeast corner of Avon and Livernois Roads in Rochester Hills) on Memorial Day following the parade that starts in Mount Avon Cemetery (near 1st St in Rochester) at 10 a.m.

Royal Oak, Michigan Memorial Day Parade

The parade route starts at South Main Street and Harrison, heading North to 2nd Street, then East to the Veteran’s Memorial Plaza where the Annual Memorial Service will be held. Sylvan Lake, Michigan Memorial Day Parade, Bike Parade and Ceremony.

The Bike and Stroller decorating will take place at 10:15 the morning of the Parade at City Hall. Parade begins at City Hall 11:00 o’clock and ends at Memorial Park with Veterans Recognition Ceremony. New w route this year! Inverness to Cheltingham, Cheltingham to Garland, Garland to Memorial Park. View parade from a “Good Neighbor” lawn (look for the “Parade Viewers Welcome” lawn signs). Troy, MI Memorial Day Ceremony

Walled Lake, MI Memorial Day Parade

The Walled Lake Memorial Day parade begins at 11a at Walled Lake Dr and Maple and runs along Pontiac Trail and culminates at City Hall.

Waterford, Michigan Memorial Day Parade

Parade starts at Dixie Highway and Sashabaw roads. Parade heads north to a ceremony at the Drayton Plains Cemetary at the end of the parade.

White Lake, MI Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast

Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast at White Lake Inn (3955 Ormond Rd White Lake, Michigan 48383). Breakfast is from 8:30-11:30a and a Flag Raising Ceremony is at noon.
