I get so many phone calls from spammers and con artists from around the globe. This one caught me on a bad day. I had a little time to kill before a conference call so I wanted to have a little fun…

This started when I received a call from someone I couldn’t understand on the phone. The accent was just too thick. Whatever this guy was selling, it seemed dubious. I told him I couldn’t understand what he was trying to say and asked him to get an associate of his who spoke English a bit better to phone me back. I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on but entertained the notion that it could be 1% legit because I have been experiencing some issues with my laptop lately.
A quick google search of the number revealed it was a scam involving tech support. Basically they claim they’re Microsoft and Windows support and “helping” people debug their computers. I wondered if someone was going to call me back and plotted a little time-wasting Oakland County Moms telemarketer revenge. Sure enough, the first dummy had someone that spoke English SLIGHTLY more clearly called me back.
