Orion Township Public Library offers several events each month for toddlers, children, teens and families throughout the month.

Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War
Orion Township Public Library will Host New Traveling Exhibition that tells the Story of Abraham Lincoln’s Struggle to Meet the Constitutional Challenges of the Civil War.
Regular Storytimes (registration required):
- Babytime (infants to walkers with caregiver)
Mondays at 10a
Babies experience the sounds and structure of language through rhythm, rhyme, and repetition.
- Toddler Tales (walkers to 24 months with caregiver)
Mondays at 11a or Tuesdays @ 11a
Toddlers actively participate in stories, movement, and music.
- Tremendous Twos (24-36 months with caregiver)
Tuesdays at 10a or Thursdays at 10a
"Twos" develop their social, emotional, and language skills through stories and songs.
- Threes Please (3 year olds with or without caregiver)
Mondays at 1:30p or Wednesdays at 10a
"Threes" build vocabulary, language development, and listening comprehension with stories, rhymes, and creative expression.
- Fantastic Fours and Fives (4 and 5 year olds without a caregiver)
Tuesdays at 1:30p or Thursdays at 11a
Preschoolers build early reading skills, social skills, and physical development through hands-on activities, stories, songs, and movement.
- Family Stories - Storytime Class for the whole family
Wednesdays at 7p
Children and their grown-ups share stories, songs, and rhymes that foster language skills and the love of reading.

Read to Maggie

Grades K-5, please stop in or call to register
We are pleased to welcome Maggie to our library! She is a certified Reading Education Assistance Dog trained by Colleen Gagnon who says that Maggie loves listening to children read. The program is limited to 4 children per session.
Family Storytimes

Join us for stories, songs, and activities celebrating things we love.
Friends and Fun
Friday, April 20 @ 10 am
Ages 0-5, please register online
Listen to a story, sing a song, do an activity and then enjoy 30 minutes of free play with your children. This is a great opportunity to casually meet other parents in the community.
Lego® @ the Library

Calling all builders for a fun and creative time! Use colorful interlocking blocks to create an object based on our mystery theme!
Musical Movement from Early On Oakland County
Saturday, April 28 @ 2 pm and May 12th from 1p-1:30p
Ages 1 & 2 with parents, please register online
Early On Oakland County will bring a physical therapist and language specialists in for an enriching musical program for your toddler.

Got nothing to do when theres no school? Well put out the Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 and board games, too. Bring some friends or make new ones.
Iron Chef
April 21st from 2p-4p
Put on your Chefs' hats and let’s get cooking! You’ll be given lots of ingredients to choose from and one secret ingredient that you must use to see who makes the best concoction.
Coffee House
May 29th from 6p-8:30p
Calling all music lovers and coffee/hot chocolate lovers. Bring your friends to hang out and listen to some extraordinary music, amazing poetry and other great acts. If you are a poet or musician and want to show your stuff, let Deb know before the 29th so you can be put on the schedule.

- Book Discussion Groups
2nd Tuesday @ 2:00pm - or - 3rd Monday @ 7:00pm
New members are always welcome for the monthly book discussions. Meetings are held at the library September through June. Title Selections and Meeting Schedule.
- ESL Conversation Group
Tuesdays from 10:00am - 11:30am
The ESL group is open to all who wish to practice their English language skills in a relaxed and informal setting. The topics vary widely, and it is a great learning experience as well as an opportunity to meet people. Child care is provided. Meeting Schedule.
- Jobseekers Workshop
2nd and 4th Wednesday @ 7:00pm
During this tough job market one of the best ways to find a job may be through networking. If you are currently seeking employment or are trying to change careers, we are starting a job-seekers support group here at the library. Join us for meetings facilitated by a career counselor, which will involve education, resources, support, brainstorming and networking with others. Jobseekers Workshop meetings will be suspended for the month of December. Meetings will resume in January 2012. Workshop Schedule.
- Needle Arts Circle
Thursdays from 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Come and join other needle artists to work on projects and enjoy each others company. Meeting Schedule.
