altHeritage Park is a massive venue in Farmington Hills with tons of activities to do year-round for parents and children.

Located on the west side of Farminton Road between 10 and 11 Mile, the 211-acre property features 4.5 miles of walking trails.

When you follow the road through the park, you will begin to notice that Heritage Park is home to some historic buildings. These buildings feature the Visitor's Center, the Nature Center, and the Art Studio. The Nature Center, which is known for its bird-watching area, is free and open to the public. The Art Studio is the former stables of the property, and is used for art and pottery classes.

As you explore the park, you will notice that the trails are the most dominant feature of the park. The trails wind through the park and provide scenic, overlooking views of the area and the Rouge River.

The recently-built splash park will be a big attraction for children. It is located next to the playscape area that also features volleyball nets and a large, open field for any other activities you can think of.

The winter months also feature plenty of activity at Heritage Park. Sledding, outdoor hockey, and cross-country skiing are the three popular activities in the park; but other activities and events are held at the park.

Any of the three picnic shelters in the park can be reserved through the Costick Center. You can call the center at (248) 473-1800 to make reservations.

The park prohibits fishing in any pond or river located in the park and dogs are not allowed.
