Pleasantview Winery Harbor Springs Review – Pics, and info on Pleasantview Winery and Bed and Breakfast. This location is now Happy Days & Nights Winery and Bed & Breakfast.

Pleasantview Winery offers wine tasting tours.

The last time I went to a winery was about 20 years ago in Oregon while on vacation visiting a friend. It was a casual experience and there were several wineries located nearby one another, which allowed us to “winery hop.” You go in, sip some wine, walk out and head to another. Several wine “shots” later, you pick your favorite, buy a bottle, and stumble home.

I recently had an alltogether different experience at the Pleasantview Winery Harbor Springs. For $5 per person, I had the opportunity to sip and sample about 10 different wines, and learn a great deal about each one. Jerry, the tasting room manager at Pleasantview Winery, is a wine enthusiast who knows his stuff. He shared the story behind each grape and bottle of wine, as well as what foods they pair well with. At the end, we got to keep the wine glass we used during the tasting which makes for a nice keepsake souvenir with “Pleasantview Winery” printed on it.

The wines at Pleasantview Winery are American varietal. You won’t find a Merlot here. This is completely unique and different from what I’m used to. I’m a Merlot fan, but here I went off the board and tried the local’s wines. Oddly enough, I ended up liking a white wine the best because of its unique flavor that was prefaced with a pepper and jalepeno aroma.

The wines at Pleasantview Winery Harbor Springs MI have no additional sulfites added, no preservatives, and are unfiltered.

Pleasantview Winery also offers a Bed & Breakfast experience at the Highland Hideaway B&B Resort which is located on the premises at 6767 Pleasantview Rd.

Northern Michigan wine tours and wineries are becoming quite popular. Wineries in “Up North” Michigan aren’t located extremely close to each other but there are enough of them in relatively close proximity that you can tour several wineries and take several wine tours with 15-20 minute driving distances if you plan your route correctly. If you do, I highly recommend visiting Pleasantview Winery!
