September 06, 2009

Crittenton Hospital Medical Center has developed a school nurse program in partnership with Rochester Community Schools. Here is a recent article that was released announcing this new partnership.

Barnes and Noble Free Wi-Fi

August 23, 2009

altSometimes a place will offer up free Wi-Fi, but by time you figure out how to sign on and get through all the obstacles, your laptop battery is running low and it's time for your next appointment. At Barnes and Noble, it's super easy.

Spencer Park Swim Lessons - Rochester Hils

August 17, 2009

altMy kids signed up for the second session of swim lessons at Spencer Park  in Rochester Hills.  Like the first session, swim lessons were held every day Monday through Saturday for two weeks; a total of 12 classes all for free!  The classes were taught by the lifeguards themselves, and they did an AWESOME job. And in addition to swimming, they discussed other water safety topics. Here's the rest of my review:

Rochester Eye Care Lasik - One Year Later

July 16, 2009

I can't believe it's almost been a year since I have had my lasik at Rochester Eye Care procedure done!  So time really does fly by! Here is my review:

I am still 100% happy and thrilled with the outcome of my procedure with Rochester Eye Care.  My vision is great.  I have been fortunate to not have experienced any strange

RARA Dance Program Review

June 12, 2009

altMy daughter just had her first on-stage dance experience. It was with RARA and I have to give them a huge round of applause! I was more than impressed by the professionalism and organization of the dance classes throughout the year, as well as the big RARA final dance recital. My six year old son was even on the edge of his seat and applauding enthusiastically after each performance. Here is video of the performance and below is my review:

Shuttleworth Heating and Cooling - Oxford

May 12, 2009

The furnace and A/C in our home were the originals (from '84), and although it was still working, it wasn't effective. We were experiencing excess moisture in the summer, and uneven home temps in the winter.

Rochester Library Paws For Reading

March 19, 2009

I have heard about Paws for Reading for a while now, but finally tried Paws for Reading out with my kids. It's the Paws for Reading program where the kids can reserve time to read to a dog. At the Paws for Reading, it's Lucy or Annabelle. Readings can be reserved each Wednesday evening. Here is video of the review

i9 Basketball - Youth Sports League Review

March 17, 2009

alti9 Sports Basketball (boys 5-7): If Sportz All-Starz is "hyper-competitive", then i9's basketball program is... well, the opposite of "hyper-competitive". That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. i9 has a "kill 'em with kindness' approach to their league.

CVS Minute Clinic - Reviews

December 25, 2008

It was Saturday afternoon and the doctor's office was closed. My son was complaining his eyes were bothering him. When I looked closely, I could see that he was starting to come down with pink eye. I did not want to invest the time and money in going to urgent care. I called there ahead of time and there was an hour wait.

Plumber Recommendation

November 19, 2008

Thank you, moms! I recently put out a calling for a plumber and Wendy replied with a recommendation for "Dave the Plumber." This bit of information proved to be very helpful. This is what I love most about this site!

Anyway, I like to keep the names of these highly recommended handymen on hand just in case. Well, my just in case situation arose yesterday when I woke up and found that my sump pump had conked, only 1 year and 5 months after putting in a new one.
