Addicting Games dot com Review

September 15, 2010

altA lot of red flags with Addicting Games dot com. Holy Moly! My son was watching Spongebob on Nickelodeon and came running to me asking if he could go on Addicting Games dot com. AddictingGames is a website advertised by Nickelodeon and they partner to be a part of Nickelodeon's

Can Do Street dot com Review

September 15, 2010

altThanks to reader Joe M for this suggestion for this review. Can Do Street dot com is designed for kids (3-7) maneuver through a street where they learn valuable lessons in life and learning. The Can Do Street dot com animation is extremely attractive and age appropriate. It's easy to see how children would get lost in the content

cool mathgames dot com - review

January 09, 2011

altInitially, I had some reservations about coolmath-games.com. On the surface, it appears to be too busy and high-speed for a kids website that promotes learning. Coolmath-games dot com also has quite a bit of advertising. I'm not against advertising on websites at all but some advertising on kids websites can be either excessive or divisive. Some "learning websites" for kids contain overt shilling for products you wouldn't want to see associated for kids. Cool mathgames dot com passes my test in the advertising content department and I'm definitely willing to forgive the colorful busyness off the site because the content is fantastic.

Float App - Phone App For Kids

March 14, 2011

altSometimes I think my kids like my smartphone more than I do. They get so occupied by all the apps, they can suck my battery dry in a matter of minutes.

Sure playing apps on a smartphone can be fun and addictive, but I always feel more comfortable letting my kids play phone apps once I've seen a game and can rest assured that  they are safe and not offensive or scary in any way.

Fun Brain dot com Review

September 15, 2010

altFun Brain dot com is fun and games for students K-8, as well as a resource for parents and teachers. There's a heavy emphasis on age appropriate learning on Fun Brain dot com. While they may have succeeded with the educational end of their

Fungooms dot com

April 05, 2011

altFungooms dot com is designed for children of pre-school age and perhaps even younger. Fungooms takes a unique approach for a kids website. Not only does the website market toward the infant to pre-school demographic (a rarity), Fungooms takes a different approach altogether in how the site is designed to entertain its young users.

Highlights Kids dot com Review

September 15, 2010

altHighlights Kids dot com is the website extension of the popular Highlights Magazine. If your child is a fan of Highlights, Highlights Kids dot com does not disappoint. Highlights Kids dot com features the same popular segments from the magazine. My children love

Hippo Works dot com review

December 09, 2010

altHippo Works dot com is a fun, creative way for kids to learn about being involved with global and animal rights causes. Created by cartoonist Denis Thomopoulos and two friends, Hippo Works dot com is colorful, attractive and easy to maneuver. I admire how the site's content can be just as relevant and fun for a 4 year old as it is for a 12 year old. Hippoworks encourages kids to learn more about the dangers of global warming, pollution and the extinction of animals through environmental concerns in addition to promoting global awareness. It's very educational.
