I don't have many scars, but I have a few. When a sample of ScarAway was offered for me to try out, I figured I had nothing to lose. I had gall bladder surgery back in '98. It was done laparoscopically, and although small, they're still scars.
There are certain fitness gurus that I give props to; people who have demonstrated a health and fitness way of life year after year, successfully. Kathy Smith is one of them. It's hard to believe Kathy Smith is turning 60 this year! She is just as fit and gorgeous as she was back in the 80's (when you could find her fitness posters plastering my husband's bedroom walls).
Every trick in the book moms can think of come into play whenever we take kids to the doctor for a shot. My efforts in the past have included: mild coaxing, gesturing wildly, giving my daughter a book or toy or using "reasoning skills" on a 3 year old. No matter my efforts - they all dissolved into a torrent of tears of wailing when the needle came into play or the boo boo was particularly painful. I thought there was just nothing you could do to make the situation any better.
Brain Age 2 for the Nintendo DS is an educational game designed to provide daily mental exercises in the form of games to sharpen your skills. In that regard, the format of the game is very similar to Big Brain Academy for Wii. Brain Age 2, like Big Brain, assesses your "brain age" through a series of fun, random tests and puzzles and assigns a program of playing games to enhance mental skills in areas you may be weakest in.
I was intrigued when Paula Tutman of WDIV contacted me about a doing segment on the Fountain of Youth, and testing a wrinkle reducing product that guaranteed to make you look 5 years younger in 14 days.
The product is ANEW ULTIMATE Night Gold Emulsion from Avon. The full story is in the video below which aired on WDIV.
When I went to my first Lamaz class (something I look back on today and wonder why) I took away one piece of useful information. Oddly enough, it wasn't useful during labor, but is more so useful now with my family. It was the rice sock idea. Basically, you take one of your husband's tube socks and fill it with rice. When you have an ache or pain, heat the rice sock in the microwave and it makes for a contouring heating pad. It can be reheated repeatedly - mine is 9 years old and still works. My kids love it, I love it, my husband, well, he misses his sock.
It's no secret I'm a big fan of Trader Joe's. I've written many posts and reviews in the past regarding Trader Joe's products. In my reviews, I like to compare Trader Joe products to standard, similar products that we're all aware of. I decided to make another comparison between a Trader Joe's brand and a well-known brand. This time I'm comparing Trader Joe's Raisin Bran and Kellogg’s Raisin Bran.
I attended a pre-screening to review the new Selena Gomez movie, Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo, in theatres July 1, 2011, is about an ordinary girl - Grace (Selena Gomez) who has planned and looked forward to her high school graduation trip to Paris with her best friend for years. Her mother and step father throw a wrench into the plan by "surprising" her with another travel buddy, her not-so-close step sister.
Whether I think back to my waitressing days or when I was pregnant (or even now when I'm on my feet for too long), I have always felt that my legs get to a point where they tire and ache.
I received a sample of the Zensah Fresh Legs Compression Leg Sleeves to review. They fit from below the knee down to above the ankle. They come in more colors than you can imagine, and they are available in multiple sizes.
When on the go, whether you are travelling or just taking a day trip full of fun and errands, you need convenience, especially if you have your little ones in tow. My kids are older now, but I still have to be sure that they have at minimum one thing on hand, bottled water. It saves me from having to hear they crying thirst pangs.
