After hearing friends of ours repeatedly recommend Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria, my husband and I went to try it out. Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria is a small pizzeria with only about seven tables inside. Fresco opened in 2010 and is serving up some of the finest New York-style thin crust pizza.

Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria cooks the New York style thin crust pizza in a wood burning oven. The
thin crust pizza is cooked at high temps (750 degrees F) and is done in just a couple minutes. And, the end result is a thin crust that is slightly crispy, yet easy to "fold," topped with bubbling melted cheese and other authentic Italian toppings. New-York style pizza snobs may not be thrilled that the crust isn't playing card-thin like some NY-style enthusiasts prefer, but I thought the thickness was perfect. Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria offers the usual pizza toppings, but also has unique selections available such as basil, proscuitto, pecorino, caciocavallo, provolone, ricotta, arugula and more.

Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria uses quality ingredients you can taste. One that stood out to me was the sauce. It's more zesty than sweet, has a perfect consistentcy (not too thick and not too runny), and adds great flavor. Perhaps the best pizza sauce I've tasted.

When you order your NY thin crust pizza at Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria, you can add a shake of garlic seasoning, red pepper flakes, oregano and/or parmesan.

Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria has a large wine and bottled beer menu. Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria also offers appetizers, salads and hero sandwiches. Appetizers include marinated olives, meatballs, roasted peppers and sausage (roasted in the wood oven). There are four salads to choose from including the Arugola, fresh baby arugola, prosciutto, parmesan cheese with a balsamic dressing. The hero sandwiches at Fresco Wood Oven Pizzeria are topped with sauce and cheese, and then roasted and toasted in the wood oven.

Pizzas from the Fresco menu starts at $7 and goes all the way up to $12. 1 pizza is plenty for 1 famished adult or is a lighter meal for 2 people.
