Oakland County Parks offers golf lessons, golf clinics, putting clinics and more for adults and kids at Oakland County Parks Golf Courses (Glen Oaks Golf Course, Lyon Oaks Golf Course, Red Oaks Golf Course, Springfield Oaks Golf Course and White Lake Oaks Golf Course) throughout the spring and summer.

Oakland County Parks Golf Programs Include:

Junior Golf Program at White Lake Oaks Golf Course - Kids learn about the game and try it out every Monday for six weeks, June 18 - July 23, at White Lake Oaks Golf Course. The Junior Golf Program focuses on fundamentals and course etiquette in four age divisions (kids ages 7-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-16). Juniors must bring their own set of golf clubs. Each participant will receive a league discount card and a 9-hole voucher for a future visit. Each golfer will receive a league discount card to be used toward green fees and a 9-hole voucher for a future visit. Fee for the Junior Golf Program is $80. Pre-pay by June 11 and save $5! Putting and Chipping Clinics - Both recreational and serious golfers can improve their grip, technique, stroke and alignment at these clinics. Held at all five courses -- choose the location and date most convenient for you! Putting clinic participants should bring a putter. For Chipping clinics, bring a chipping wedge and number 7- 9 iron. Adult Golf Lessons at Lyon Oaks Golf Course - Lyon Oaks Golf Course hosts lessons for beginners and advanced beginners, including special sessions for ladies only. Each five-week session costs $99. Adaptive Golf Lessons and Golf - Individuals with physical disabilities or recovering from stroke or surgery can play golf with the help of special adaptive golf carts. Lessons are held Mondays from May – July 30 from 5 - 6 p.m. at Beech Woods Golf Course in Southfield. To register call Claudia Brewer at 248-796-4673. Adaptive course play takes place Tuesdays from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. in June, July and August at Red Oaks Golf Course. New golfers need to be assessed for course play prior to attending.
