My kids got a waterpark pass last year for a reading program at their school. It was our first time visiting the waterpark and they had an awesome time! If it had not been the end of the season, we would have gone back again. But, these outings add up, especially when you have 2 or 3 kids, or even more.
I was happy to see that Oakland County Parks is taking into consideration that some families are struggling right now. They are offering lower rates for the upcoming summer season to make family fun more affordable.
Tamarack Lodge is nestled among several inns and hotels along the Grand Traverse Bay strip. Tamarack Lodge offers different rooms to choose from that accommodate many - 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, penthouse suite and more. We stayed at a Junior Penthouse Suite at Tamarack Lodge and it's someplace I would definitely go back again.

Traverse City State Park and its surrounding areas provides families with as many activities as any camping experience. With 47 acres of land, the campsite offers several features that will make camping comfortable and care-free.
As you enter the campgrounds, you'll notice the beach of the east arm of the Grand Traverse Bay on the north side of U.S. 131 N. This beach is open to every camper and is only a short walk over the pedestrian bridge from the campsite.

The Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City invited me and my family out for an overnight stay to experience the kick off of Snowland - their Christmas Winter Wonderland. We had never been there before so were quite excited to see it. We had heard it was their busiest time of year and this proved to be true!
(For a full photo album of this trip, please visit my Facebook page.)
When we first walked into the lobby, it was a "Disney-style" Christmas wonderland. The kids were amazed - there were lights and beautiful decorations everywhere.
We recently went to Zehnder's splash village in Frankenmuth. My 4 1/2 year old loved it.They have a zero entry pool, a lazy river and several water slides. We went to the Bavarian Inn to eat which I would not recommend because of the amount of time it took to get the food. My son was much more patient than usual because he had a friend with him, but it was frustrating for all of us to have to sit still for that long. We went on a horse drawn carriage ride at night which was a little pricey but fun.
