Review of a previous event….

A previous day’s activities included the Friends of Dinosaur Hill Pioneer Homestead and Playground, music, food, Joel Tracy’s Spooktacular Comedy Show, Guy Louis Family concert, Stony Creek High School Drum Line, Paint Creek Center for the Arts make-and-take art projects, a children’s garden craft, hayrides, the Detroit Piston’s Hoops truck, Rochester Hills Fire Truck and more! In addition, an outdoor exhibit of scarecrows made by local organizations will be on display. Laura Cassar read her children’s book, “Night of 1,000 Pumpkins,” based on this event.

The Great Stonewall Pumpkin Festival lighting ran from 7p-9p where all the carved pumpkins were displayed on the museum’s great stone wall at the front entrance. It was quite a site! Organizers of the event said they started with 2000 pumpkins, had only 100 left over, and almost all were returned for the Stonewall evening display. There were well over 1000 pumpkins to see, and they each had their own unique design. The kids toured and viewed all of the pumpkins and loved seeing all the different designs (see video).
