Royal Park Hotel Gingerbread House 2011

Royal Park Hotel Gingerbread House 2011 – The life-size gingerbread house returns to the lobby of The Royal Park Hotel for another holiday season. In its third year of partnership with The Salvation Army, the Royal Park Hotel is adding a new “twist” to this year’s gingerbread house – a rotating platform that will display all 360 degrees of Chef Slessor’s Christmas creation. This year’s giant gingerbread house also includes 100 additional pounds of holiday candy.

Ingredients used for the 2011 giant gingerbread house:

  • 220 cups of sugar
  • 300 lbs of gingerbread mix
  • 110 cups of powdered sugar
  • 90 gallons of water
  • 240 eggs
  • 300 lbs of holiday candy
  • 400 candy canes
  • 10 gallons of fondant

The giant gingerbread house will be displayed through the holiday season!

The Royal Park Hotel will sell sponsorship to 200 gingerbread “bricks” used to build the breathtaking display, which measures 8 feet tall and took over 280 hours of dedication to complete. Bricks may be purchased inside the hotel’s Rochester Sugar Shoppe for a $10 minimum donation to The Salvation Army, which is enough to provide food for one individual for an entire month. Sponsors will receive a special certificate recognizing their contribution.
