Trader Joes Cinnamon Rolls Review

Trader Joes Cinnamon Rolls Review – review, nutritional info, ingredients, and comparison to Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, Cinnabon, and Meijer Cinnamon Rolls.

Everyone loves a fresh Cinnabon or cinnamon roll but can you get a tasty cinnamon roll comparable to a Cinnabon. I decided to try Trader Joe’s Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls and Meijer brand Cinnamon Rolls to review.

I had somewhat less diet guilt when I read the label on the canister for Trader Joes Cinnamon Rolls. Yes, there’s a high fat content and loads of sugar, but on a positive note – the list of ingredients for Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Rolls was NOT loaded with preservatives, additives I could not pronounce, unfamiliar ingredients… On the other hand, if you were to compare the canister of Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Rolls to a canister of Meijer’s brand Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls, you’d see a completely different situation.

On the Meijer brand of the Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls, you’ll find ingredients such as Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Sodium Acid Pyrophospate, Aluminum Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Plysorbate 60, and of course… colored with Titanium Dioxide, Yellow 5, Yellow 6… and finally preserved with some BHT and TBHQ. That’s not even all of it, but it’s enough to kill the temptation and make me walk away. The Trader Joe’s Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls are priced at about 60 cents more than the Meijer brand of Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls ($3.99 vs. $3.39), but it’s totally worth it to go with the Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Rolls!

In the case of Trader Joes Cinnamon Rolls, you’re getting what you pay for. Plus, my family and I tried the Trader Joe’s Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls on football Sunday and they were delicious. If I could change one thing, I’d have more icing. Don’t get me wrong, the Trader Joe’s Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls come with a decent amount of icing, I just typically love if the icing is covering just about the entire exterior surface of the Cinnamon Rolls.
